TotalEnergies, Groupe ADP and Fédération Française Aéronautique (FFA) Agree to Install Charge Points for Aircraft at Paris Area Airfields
TotalEnergies, Groupe ADP and Fédération Française Aéronautique (FFA) have agreed to install charge points for electric aircraft at three Paris region airfields to support the aeronautical industry's decarbonization, specifically through the electrification of light aircraft.
The partnership will initially focus on installing, for the first time, four charge points next spring at the Toussus-le-Noble, Etampes and Pontoise airfields managed by Groupe ADP. This solution will help reduce noise pollution at the airfields.

The self-service charge points will facilitate pilots' initial flights between two airfields and make it possible for aircraft based on site to recharge quickly and easily, in just one hour.
"This initiative is fully aligned with Groupe ADP's drive to make its Paris-area airfields test labs for the sustainable aviation of the future, while taking practical steps to support the electrification of light aircraft fleets with the deployment of new charge points, as well as all ground operations. At all our airports, we are engaged in integrating clean energies to decarbonize aviation, be it through electrification, sustainable aviation fuel and, further out, hydrogen," said Edward Arkwright, Deputy CEO of Groupe ADP.
"FFA is already involved in numerous initiatives to promote electric aviation in France through its Fab Lab at the Toussus-le-Noble airfield and hands-on solutions to enable the use of electric aircraft, notably models made by Pipistrel, the only manufacturer in the world with a certified aircraft as we sign today’s Memorandum of Understanding. The installation of these dedicated charge points will make it possible to carry out the initial flights needed to obtain a private pilot license and go beyond the scope of local flights," said Jean-Luc Charron, Chairman of FFA.
As with the network of charge points for electric vehicles, TotalEnergies' objective is to facilitate and accelerate the deployment of electric aviation in France, initially by adapting airfield infrastructure. TotalEnergies will contribute its know-how in deploying charge point solutions and supplying low carbon electricity to support its customers in their transformation. The charge points will be operated by TotalEnergies.
