Elixir Aircraft, the French low-carbon training aircraft manufacturer — whose fleet already includes 35 aircraft flying across Europe — is developing a turbine-powered version compatible with all types of aviation fuels.

On the occasion of the 55th International Paris Air Show (SIAE), Turbotech has signed a partnership with TotalEnergies that will allow Turbotech to carry out turbine testing using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supplied by TotalEnergies at the Paris-Saclay-Versailles site (Île-de-France).

On October 18, TotalEnergies Aviation signed a three-year partnership agreement with the Aéro Biodiversité association, in the presence of Louise Tricoire, Director of Aviation, and Denis Leluc, President of Aéro Biodiversité. 

In 2018, seven companies (Expleo, Arkema, Cobratex, Mecano ID, Specific Polymers) and research laboratories (CIRIMAT, Compositadour) joined forces to create the BAMCO consortium aimed at developing biosourced composite materials, with the emphasis on bamboo fibre. 

TotalEnergies and Air France-KLM have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the delivery of more than one million cubic metres/800,000 tonnes of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by TotalEnergies to Air France-KLM Group airlines over the 10-year period from 2023.

TotalEnergies is the first in France to supply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to a French airport on a permanent basis.

Committed to reducing their carbon footprint, the two companies recently signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at accelerating the reduction of CO2 emissions from the aviation industry.

Aviation’s future depends on its ability to take up current environmental challenges. To do this, TotalEnergies is developing its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) offering - fuel made from used cooking oil or animal fats from the circular economy.

In partnership with Titan Aviation, TotalEnergies Aviation had already committed to more sustainable refuelling with its hybrid refuelling trucks. Now, even greener models are emerging. These all-electric vehicles make “net zero emissions” an attainable goal. 

In a market that’s still under construction today, aviation biofuels are set to develop in the years to come, driven by more coercive public policies. TotalEnergies​ is thinking ahead of this aviation tipping point and is investing to meet future demand, in line with its Net Zero goal.

To reduce carbon emissions from its operations, TotalEnergies​ is investing massively to renew and convert its fleet of refuelling trucks. All-electric models are on their way in addition to hybrid versions.

Gaussin and Total are jointly developing the world's first full electric ART FULL ELEC® (Aircraft Refueller Transporter). Planned for the Airbus industrial site in Toulouse, this prototype will be capable of towing two fuel tankers, with a fuel capacity of 30 tons each. Delivery is expected at the end of 2020.
